Ukraine International Airlines (UIA) is planning to open a new route from Kiev to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry’s press service reports that Ukraine will open a visa center in Ethiopia on July 16. According to the report, the center will commence its operation on July 16, 2018 in Addis Ababa, in Morning Star Mall, 3rd Floor, Bole area, run by VF Worldwide Holding Ltd.
Ultimate Plan Private Limited Company and UK firm Aedas won the bid for an architectural design re-tender for the mega conference hall for the Ethiopian Orthodox Church.
The conference hall, with an expected capacity of 13,000 seats, will be constructed at the Ethiopian Orthodox Church Patriarch’s palace in Arada district. The hall is planned to be powered by solar energy and will host outside facilities such as access roads, footpaths and landscaping.
The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development announced that remittance to developing countries has shown growth according to the The Least Developed Countries Report 2012: Harnessing Remittances and Diaspora Knowledge to Build Productive Capacities” report. The report was released Addis Ababa, Ethiopia last Monday.
The report stated that the amount of remittance to developing countries has increased from 3.5 billion to 27 billion in the last decade, 1990-211. This is a very significant growth according to Tesfachew Tafere, Director of the Africa and Least Developed Countries Division with UNCTAD.
The 48 countries that were included in the report are the world’s least developed countries. The report counseled these countries to draft laws to allow for the proper utilization of the remittance.
