Sony announced nine new products: Cyber-shot™ cameras including the WX series (DSC-WX100, WX150), HX series (DSC-HX200V, HX20V, HX10V), W690, TX series (DSC-TX20, TX66), and H series (H90), which offer superior optical performance in some of the world’s slimmest and lightest cameras.

Each of the new nine cameras are designed to exceed the needs of amateur photographers and professionals at any locations.
The new Cyber-shot™ compact digital cameras are currently available on the Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda.

The new products will push the boundaries of digital photography by creating cameras to serve the demands of a dynamic market and Sony customers seeking high performance, style, convenience and durability.

Sony launched its Sony XPERIA smartphones to the Ethiopian market on Saturday 17 August 2013.

Along with the flagship Xperia Z, the smartphones range features five new models, the Xperia TIPO, Xperia J, Xperia Go and Xperia V. The new Xperia Z's range of features includes a 5-inch Full HD 1080p Reality Display.

The South African Standard Bank disclosed it is going to open a representative office in Ethiopia in two months time. This is despite the Ethiopian economy is closed for foreigners when it comes to commercial banking services.

State Minister of Foreign Affairs Dawano Kedir said that Ethiopia is open to Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) during a visit by a South African business delegation.

The South African company LontohCoal shipped 27,500 tonnes of Coal to Ethiopia on Wednesday. The shipment will be arrive through Port Djibouti for Huang Shan Cement and CH Clinker.

The two Chinese companies are subsidiaries of the Guangdong Chuanhui Group which signed the two year agreement for 480,000 tonnes of coal every year with LontohCoal.

The Coal was expected to arrive in September but was held up due to transportation difficulties.
