An American Mining giant named Newmont Mining Corporation, which is regarded as one of the world’s largest producers of gold is to engage in gold exploration and extraction projects in Tigray Regional State of Ethiopia.
NIB Bank has entered into a strategic partnership with Arifpay Financial Technologies, a leading Ethiopian fintech company, to roll out digital payment solutions aimed at businesses and consumers across the country.
Nib International Bank awarded Ethiopian Exporters at an even held at the Addis Ababa Sheraton Hotel. The bank awarded 56 exporters with trophies and certificates which have been a significant customer base for the bank according to Amerga Kassa, president of NIB.
Foreign exchange from exporters is the most dependable source for the bank above other sources such as remittance, aid etc he noted.
The current shortage of foreign exchange is due to the significant gap between import and export trade in the country according to Amerga.
Nib International Bank, Ethiopia officially introduced a new logo last week. The new logo is in line with the banks desire to 
re-brand to meet customer expectations and to better reflect the banks mission, vision and core values.
The Board of Directors and the management team exerted effort to create a new brand that is consistent with the services that the bank offers and the new developments that are taking place at the bank said Tafesse Bogale, Chairman of the NIB board.
The new brand and logo were created in a manner that will allow domestic and international customers to quickly recognize the bank without necessitating a name to be attached.
One of the private banks in Ethiopia, Nib International S.C., had launched Visa Card service starting from August 24, 2015, Capital reported.
