Experts from the Commodity Exchange in Ethiopia are to train stakeholders and personnel of the Ghanaian Commodity Exchange according to Ms. Hanna Tetteh Ghanaian Minister of Trade and Industry.
The training is to begin in the first quarter of 2012 she said.
The Ethiopian Airlines said it was planning to increase its market share in Africa by ten folds in 2025 by raising the quality of its service and number of its aircraft.
Tewolde Gebre-Mariam, CEO of the airlines, said that Ethiopian would add 70 modern, fuel-saving aircraft to its fleet.
According to Tewolde, Ethiopian's annual income has now reached 1.6 billion dollars and the company was working to raise it to 10 billion dollars. The airline’s annual number of passengers is currently over three million, three times greater than the number of passengers over the last five years.
Ethiopian Airlines announced that its annual revenue had grown by 40 percent in the 2010/11 fiscal year which ended on 7 July 2011. The airline made it in spite of airplane fuel price hike, Tewolde Gebremariam, CEO of the carrier, said.
According to Tewelde, the number of passengers Ethiopian carried in the 2010/11 fiscal year has also grown by 34 percent.
Ethiopian Airlines flies to 63 destinations around the globe and to 17 destinations locally. According to Tewelde, flights to Banguwi, Hanju, Malacal, Milan and Muputo were launched in the fiscal that just ended.
The fuel price hike has claimed 41 percent of the airline’s expenditures according to the ailines’s CEO.

Sufian Ahmed, Minister for Finance and Economic Development presented Ethiopia’s 2014/2015 budget bill on Monday, June 9, 2014 to the House of Peoples’ Representatives (HPR) suggesting the fiscal year’s budget to be 178.6 Billion Birr. After the presentation the House sent the bill for further examination to the House’s Finance and Budget Affairs Standing Committee.
The 43-year-old Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, the youngest African incumbent leader, has been awarded the 100th Nobel Peace Prize of 2019. The Nobel Committee announced Abiy has been selected "for his efforts to achieve peace and international cooperation, and in particular for his decisive initiative to resolve the border conflict with neighboring Eritrea."
