Ethiopian Airlines wins the “2018 Best Airlines in Africa Award” for the seventh year in a row.
The award, presented by the African Airlines Association (AFRAA), was given on Nov. 27 in recognition of its exceptional financial performance at the 50th African Airline Association Annual General Assembly (AFRAA AGA) in Rabat, Morocco.
The National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) announced that it has distributed $100 million to 16 private commercial banks.
The Ethiopian National Bank is to offer, for auction, one year treasury bills for the first time today. The bank will issue 100 million birr worth of bills with a one year maturity date.
A total of 5.2 billion birr in bills will be issued by the central bank.
Five coffee associations established Ethiopian National Coffee Association today in Addis Ababa after four years of preparation.
The association is expected to contribute to the development of coffee and coffee farmers. It will work towards insuring farmers with a view to protecting them from the effect of the global coffee market. It will also target problems seen in the supply of inputs for coffee farmers.
The Ethiopian National Standards Council has approved 1,097 standards for a range of sectors of the economy.
At a press conference held on June 28, the Ethiopian Standards Agency announced that out of the 1,097 standards approved, 268 are new standards, while 829 are revised versions of existing standards.
