The Revenues and Customs Authority of Ethiopia is to conduct the second phase of the business survey to register more taxpayers in Addis Ababa. The tax authority will begin the survey as soon as it receives a go ahead from the City Administration according to officials. 
ERCA plans to survey 23,000 businesses in Addis Ababa in the second phase of the survey expected to commence in two weeks.
The Ethiopian Revenues and Customs Authority (ERCA) is to set up an inspection laboratory for tariff classification of imports. The lab will help determine the tariff classifications of imports on the basis of their material and chemical composition.
The inspection laboratory is a recommendation from the Dutch Customs Authority (DCA) and the World Customs Organization (WCO). The two agencies were invited to evaluate existing tariff classifications and recommend possible changes by ERCA. The contract was sponsored by the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA).
Ethiopian delegation discussed with members of Moroccan business community on Monday May 11, 2015 in Rabat, Morocco after bilateral talks between the respective Foreign and Finance and Economic Development Ministers, according to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
A delegation from Ethiopia met with WTO officials in Geneva on July 26th to discuss the resumption of negotiations for Ethiopia's accession to the WTO. The delegation, led by Minister of Trade and Regional Integration Gebremeskel Chala, met with WTO Deputy Director-General Mr. ZHANG Xiangchen and Ms. Rebecca Fisher-Lamb, the Chairperson of the Working Party on the Accession of Ethiopia.
An Ethiopian delegation led by Teka Gebreyesus, State Minister for Trade and Industry, recently visited the BEXIMCO Industrial Park in Dhaka, Bangladesh to see large-scale vertical operations. The Bangladesh Export Import Company Limited, commonly known by its trade name BEXIMCO, also discussed its plans to set up a textile and apparel unit in Ethiopia.
