Ethiopian Airlines to Launch Flights to Sao Paulo, Brazil

Ethiopian Airlines, Ethiopia’s flag carrier, is set to launch flights to Sao Paulo Brazil as of the coming December. The flight will be the first regular flight to South America for airline.

The Airline will commence flights three times a week to Sao Paulo using the Dreamliner aircraft that Ethiopian anticipates receiving in August and September from manufacturer Boeing.

The Sao Paulo flight will be operated through Lome, Togo where the Ethiopian affiliate ASKY airline is based according to Tewolde Gebremariam, Chief Executive of the airline.

Ethiopian Airlines to Launch Flights to South Eastern Nigeria

Ethiopian Airlines is planning to begin flights to the South Eastern Nigeria city of Enugu. The airline will begin offering flights to this destination as part of its plans to increase its destinations to Africa’s most populous country.

The airline has plans to fly to a range of destinations in Nigeria including to the Southern Central Port City Port Harcourt, Kano the largest city in Northern Nigeria as well as increasing the number of flights to the capital, Abuja according to Tewolde Gebremariam, Chief Executive of Ethiopian.

The airline wants to increase the number of flights to Abuja because the Abuja-Addis-Asia route and the Abuja-Addis-Dubai-Bangkok-China route are currently the best flight options for passengers flying to Nigeria he said.

Ethiopian Airlines to Launch New Cargo Flight

Ethiopian Airlines, Ethiopia’s flag carrier, is to launch cargo flights to Europe and the Middle East from airports in Bahirdar and  Mekelle. ethiopian_airlines_logo

The groundbreaking initiative is intended to promote investment in regional cities by allowing businesses located there direct access to international markets said Dereba Kuma, Minister of Transport.

The airline expects to provide cargo services for meat and horticultural products from these airports explained Dereba presenting the seven month performance report for the transport sector to the House of Peoples Representatives.

Ethiopian Airlines to Launch Non Stop Flight to Dammam

Ethiopian Airlines, Ethiopia’s flag carrier, announced plans to launch a new non stop flight from Addis Ababa to Dammam beginning on the 12th of February.     

The flight to be launched to Dammam will allow business people to investigate the investment and recreational potential in the area according to Tewolde Gebremariam, Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Airlines.

The flight to Dammam, the capital of the eastern province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, will be the 8th destination in the Middle East for Ethiopian Airlines and its 64th around the world.
