Ethiopian Airlines Group has finalized its feasibility study and signed a partnership business agreement with ACM Aerospace of Germany pursuant to the aerospace manufacturing development program it has embarked on. The purpose of the agreement is to set up a facility in Ethiopia that will manufacture and supply aircraft seat covers, safety belts, carpets and many other interior parts to ACM Aerospace as part of the company’s line of production.

Ethiopian Airlines, the Largest Aviation Group in Africa and SKYTRAX Certified Four Star Global Airline, is pleased to announce to its customers worldwide that it has fully implemented Self Check-in Initiative, enabling its customers to check-in using their mobile device and avoid queues at the airport.

Ethiopian Airlines and the Boeing management are in discussions for the purchase of 5 more 787 Dreamliner aircraft said Tewolde Gebre Mariam CEO of the airlines.  

The move is part of Ethiopian Airlines’ expansion project he said. It is to be remembered that Ethiopian Airlines is expecting the delivery of 10 Dreamliner aircraft ordered in 2005.

Ethiopian Airlines has inaugurated apassenger terminal at Wako Gutu Airport in Bale Robe. The project, completed at a cost of Birr 1.1 billion, was officially opened today in a ceremony attended by Oromia Chief Administrator Shimelis Abdisa, federal and regional government officials, and local community leaders.

Ethiopian Airlines has officially unveiled its dedicated power substation, with a capacity of 40 megawatts of electricity, to effectively address power disruptions. The construction of this power station, which took approximately two and a half years to complete, represents an investment of USD 9 million.
