The Federal Supreme Court is designing a new system which will set up mediation courts for civil disputes which will help in settling cases before they reach the regular courts. The legal framework is expected to come into force before the end of the current fiscal year.

The mediation courts, which will allow the disputants to settle their case within three months, will be established at the first instance and high court levels. The disputing parties will choose the mediators.

Ethiopian Road's Authority and SUR Construction PLC signed a contract to build the 104 km long Dansha-Abdrafi-Maycadran asphalt road, Fortune reported.
