Investment Office of Bahir Dar Town of Amhara Regional State said, it has licensed 87 investment projects with a combined capital of over 618.6 million Ethiopian birr during the first quarter of the current fiscal year, Ethiopian News Agency reported.
Investment license and registration expert with the office, Beteha Abebayehu said, the projects are in the areas of trade, construction, industry, service as well as hospitality and tourism sector.

Japanese solar panel manufacturer Toyo Solar has launched pilot production at its newly established facility in the Hawassa Special Economic Zone, following a USD 60 million investment in Ethiopia.
Ethiopian Railways Corporation (ERC) announced track laying for Awash-Kombolch-Woldia/Hara Gebeya railway project would start in a month.
According to Dereje Tefera, Communication Head at ERC, the project was launched back in October 2014 and it is now 33 percent complete. The railway stretches for 390 kilometer and estimated to cost 1.7 billion USD. The contractor is Turkish company, Yapi Merkezi.
Trade exhibition which aims at bringing together tycoons from Ethiopia and Oman was opened today April 11, 2016 in Addis Ababa.
The trade exhibition, which more than 100 Omani companies are taking part in, will stay open until March 14, 2016.
