Kubik, a pioneering startup specializing in the transformation of hard-to-recycle plastic waste into affordable, low-carbon building materials, announced the successful completion of the initial milestone in its seed investment round on June 23, 2023. Attracting significant investor interest, an oversubscribed USD 3.34 million was raised. Participating investors included Plug & Play, BESTSELLER Foundation, GIIG Africa Fund, Satgana, Unruly Capital, Savannah Fund, African Renaissance Partners, KAZANA Fund, Princeton Alumni Angels, and Andav Capital. In addition, strategic angel investors such as Joel Holsinger, Will Abbey, and Maex Ament provided crucial support. The funds raised will be utilized to drive the expansion of Kubik's operations throughout Ethiopia.
Over 1,600 km rural road was constructed in Oromia State through the Universal Rural Road Access Program (URRAP) during the first quarter of the current fiscal year, the state roads authority said.
During a meeting held in Adama Town on Friday, the Authority's Deputy General Manager Abdo Geleta said the State has made meaningful progress in expanding rural roads.
Amhara State has earned over 192.3 million birr revenue from tourism during the first quarter of the current fiscal year, Ethiopian News Agency reported citing the state culture, tourism and parks bureau.
Simeneh Anteneh, public relation expert with the bureau, told Ethiopian News Agency that the state earned the revenue from 1.3 million tourists who visited tourist attractions in the state.
The Amhara Revenues and Customs Authority said it has collected more than 1.4 billion birr in revenue from various income titles over the past five months, Ethiopian News Agency reported.
Communication Expert with the Authority, Alemayehu Gashaye told Ethiopian News Agency that 32.4 percent of the total revenue was generated from direct taxes, while the remaining is from municipality services.
