Out of the total 10 factories Ethiopia planned to construct during the first phase of the Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP), seven of them were said to start production at the end of the coming year, Ethiopian Sugar Corporation announced.

The second Alle Bejimla wholesale cash and carry store was opened on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Kality. The third store is expected to be opened on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Merkato.

The Bangkok based BNH Hospital is going to open a permanent office in Ethiopia. Ethiopian Aviation Academy graduated a total of 147 aviation professionals on Thursday, June 19, 2014. Among the graduates 92 of them were aviation maintenance technicians while there were 10 pilots and 20 cabin crews amongst the graduates. The rest 25 were finance professionals.

Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) concluded a 2.6 Billion Birr road construction and Omo Kuraz Sugar Factory designing projects agreement with the Chinese Construction Company Limited (CCCC) on Wednesday, June 25, 2014. The project is said to include constructing roads, Omo-Factory Junction 4 and 6, designing Omo Kuraz sugar factory, and constructing a bridge over the Omo River.
