Mines Resource Development Bureau of the Amhara Regional State identified over 19,174 square kilometers of land for mineral development. According to the deputy head of the office, Mr. Tamrat Demse, a regional map has been prepared, which includes areas for mineral development in the region, containing industrial, construction, iron, and steel-related minerals.

The Busan Economic Promotion Agency (BEPA) Footwear Industrial Promotion Center has announced its intention to launch a footwear production capacity-building project in Ethiopia. The project, which will be funded with a USD 10 million grant from the Republic of Korea Official Development Assistance (ODA), aims to enhance the competitiveness of Ethiopia's leather and leather products industry, particularly the footwear sector. The project will begin in 2023 and continue until 2027, providing the necessary training and assistance to local footwear producers and officials to improve their productivity and effectiveness.

The International Finance Cooperation (IFC) and Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), which are members of the World Bank Group, have announced an investment in Safaricom Ethiopia's greenfield telecommunications network across Ethiopia. The investment includes an equity investment, a loan, and guarantees to support the ongoing construction and operation of the network.

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization's Investment and Technology Promotion Office (ITPO), in collaboration with the Ethiopian Embassy in Tokyo, will jointly host an Ethiopian Investment Seminar at the United Nations University in Tokyo on June 27, 2023.

Ethiopian Airlines aims to expand its fleet and network map. It currently has 140 aircraft and plans to add at least 130 more by 2035. The next round of aircraft orders will be a mix of narrow-body and wide-body aircraft, including the Embraer E2 series, Airbus A220, Boeing 737 MAX, Airbus A320neo, 777X, and A350-1000. The airline is also planning to expand its network to Australia, the Americas, and Europe and increase flights to Toronto and apply for traffic rights to Montreal.

Ethiopia's Dashen Bank and Ecobank have partnered to launch a new remittance app that allows Ethiopians living in Europe to send money instantly to their families and friends back home. As per the joint statement issued by the companies, the app, called Rapidtransfer International (RTI), is available in 33 countries and offers a low-cost, convenient and secure way to send money.

The Oromia Industrial Parks Development Corporation (OIPDC) has signed agreements with five investors to invest in 11 sectors at the Bulbula Integrated Agro Industrial Park (BIAIP). The agreements were signed by OIPDC CEO Senayt Mebre and the head of Oromia Investment and Industry Bureau Ahmed Idris.
