B2B Meeting with Taiwanese Companies to be Held in Addis Ababa

The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), a trade promotion organization in Taiwan, announced it will be leading a delegation of 42 Taiwanese businesses to visit Ethiopia on June 17th.

Dubai Chamber of Commerce Open First African Office in Addis Ababa

Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) Officially opened its representative office in Addis Ababa on Thursday May 9, 2013. Yaekob Yalla, State Minister of Trade said, the opening of the representative office will further strengthen the long standing business and people-to-people relations with the Middle East.

According to Yaekob, frequent visits have been made by senior government officials from the two countries in the previous years to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

Amhara Road Authority Constructs 2115km Road

The Amhara Regional State has constructed 2115km road through the Universal Rural Road Access Project (URRAP) during the last nine months, the regional rural roads authority said. Public Relation officer with the Authority, Getenet Zewdu said on Wednesday that road is part of the 2,629 km roads planned to be constructed in this Ethiopian fiscal year. German-Ethiopian Advanced Agricultural Training Center Inaugurated

Germany will further strengthen ongoing support through knowledge and technology transfer towards growth of Ethiopia's agricultural productivity, the Federal Minister of Agriculture of Germany, llse Aigner said. A German-Ethiopian advanced training center with the Kulumsa Agricultural Research Center was inaugurated by Aigner and Agriculture State Minister Wondyirad Mandefro. The government of Germany allocated 2.7 million Euro budget for the center. A German parliamentary delegation also visited the center.

The newly opened center will be used to teach farmers about sustainable, site-specific and climate-adapted methods of production including training with modern technology. By 2014, the center, located some 170km south-east of Addis Ababa, will train 1500 farmers. Add a comment Add a comment
