The cross boarder bus transport service stretching between the capitals of 2 Horn of Africa nations, Ethiopia and Sudan, started on Sunday, March 12, 2017.
Commenting on the development, Tesfaye Belachew, Public Transport Efficiency Authentication Director at the Ministry of Transport, noted the transport service would give Ethiopians living in Khartoum an alternative traveling method, and the same for Sudanese nations living in Addis Ababa.
According to the Director, the commencement of the transport service will contribute more to the growth of tourism.
One way ticket from Addis to Khartoum currently costs 60 USD. However, Ethiopians will pay using Birr.
