Amen Animals Feed Production (AAFP) Pvt. Ltd. Co. is found in Ethiopia, the Horn of Africa. Ethiopia is a country of more than 100 million people marked with a double digit economic growth for over a decade.

AAFP was founded in 2012 EC by 1 young entrepreneurs. In 2012EC, the enterprise changed its legal business form to private limited company to manufacture and retail trade business of animal feed, supply of poultry veterinary services and engage in poultry farming.

ANIMAL FARMING IN ETHIOPIA

Animal farming in Ethiopia consists of different live stocks including; cattle, sheep and goat, horse donkey mule camel, poultry, and bee. According to the National Accounts Statistics (NAS) estimates, in 2017/18 the sub-sec- tor's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at constant prices was estimated at 154 billion birr accounting for 25.7% and 9.0% of agricultural GDP and total GDP respectively.

During the last two years, i.e., 2016/17 and 2017/18, the sub-sector has registered annual growth of 4.2% and 0.6% respectively and the growth achieved by the agricultural economic sector was 6.7% and 3.5% in 2016/17 and 2017/18 respectively.

Ethiopia's total poultry industry is estimated to be about 60 million in 2017, according to Central Statistics Agency (CSA) estimates. The breed type of the total poultry reveals that indigenous, exotic, and hybrid types constitute 88.5%, 6.25%, and 5.25% respectively.

The company operates a poultry farm located in Gelan City, 25 Kms away from the capital city Addis Ababa.

BASIC TRAINING AND ADVICE

AAFP also organizes a training on "Basic small-scale Poultry Farming" every Saturday. AAFP also supplies other products including feeder, drinker, vaccine and debeaking services for small scale poultry farmers.

PREMISES AND FACILITIES

AAFP has its Head Office on 3,500 m2 land area located in Oromiya Gelan City. From the total area, 1,500 m2 constitutes the built-up area including G+1 office buildings, feed processing plant, and warehouses for raw materials and finished products. Modern patented litter cages are being manufactured within the compound.

AAFP is also working to complete an on-going building Warehouse construction on 800 m2 land area within the Head Office compound. The buildings will be used for warehouse, shop, office, and training room.

AAFP also operates a poultry farm in Gelan City at 10,000 m2.

The company has two branch offices Gelan and Addis Abeba has 27 partners working under agreement as sales agents (franchisees) in different sides of the country.
