Abadir Engineering PLC is an Ethiopian firm with its head office in Addis Ababa was previously established in 1975 by Ato Ali Abdella Sherif as Abadir Metal Works with a starting capital of birr 30,000.00 (Thirty Thousand) and with three employees. The company is among the pioneers of the metal & wood products industry in Ethiopia with the objective of satisfying the demand for metal & woodwork products needs.

In 1993 the factory made expansion activities with the investment of Birr 771,543 provided by the Development Bank of Ethiopia which enabled it to modernize both its metal and wood workshops by installing new and latest machinery and equipment. As a result, the production capacity increased from small type to different large scale verities of products. As the importance of its products perceived known stand the industry has been renovated and expanded from time to time.

The asset exerted by the company has helped to meet the rising customer demand. Currently, the company`s assets have been estimated to be Birr 4,000,000.00. Currently, the company has reorganized its structure with three departments (shown in Figure 1) managed by qualified professionals of high educational backgrounds and rich experience.

The professionals have actively participated in many of the projects that have been carried out by Abadir Engineering PLC. At present, the Company has 35 employees among which 32 are male and 3 female. Besides eighteen of them are permanent employees and the remaining are hired on a contractual basis. Depending on the size of the activities at hand the qualified number of professional employees is likely to increase.
