Kuncho is a culturally engrained and boldly progressive creative studio for contemporary African design. Inspired by the African essence, we produce culture through various scales of design, enabling kunchos to embrace an African lifestyle.

Bar
The highest bar in Africa is made out of Ethiopian wood (kerero wood) and was built in collaboration with SAM Furniture and Crafting.

Reception
For the highest hotel in Africa we collaborated with ItyoPikal for the artistic paintings, Salem's to produce the traditional baskets we designed, TrioCraft to weave the pillow covers we designed, and SAM Furniture & crafting to build the shop shelves.

Bedrooms
The lodge has a total of 28 bedrooms, we wanted to use only Ethiopian wood and bamboo (eucalyptus, kereru, wanza, and konso woods) to furnish them. For the manufacture of all the beds, sofas, doors, light fixtures, and bedside tables, we collaborated with SAM Furniture & crafting, Jambo woodwork, Getnet woodwork, and SA bamboo. For every fabric and carpet, we worked in collaboration with TrioCrafft and Salem.

Bathroom
In the bathrooms, we played with the contrast between casted concrete and Ethiopian redwood to warm up the room. For the furniture, we used local eucalyptus, bamboo, wood and leather. For the bamboo mirror frames, we collaborated with SA Bamboo.
