Efficient Pest Control (EPC) was established in 1999 E.C by Michael G/Egziabher Tekolla and Andualem W/tsadik T/haimanot jointly as a partner in Arada Sub City after having experience in the well-known pest control company called Universal Pest Control (UPC) which has been established & managed by Ato G/Egziabher Tekolla, UPC is a local enterprise established in 1965 E.C. Michael and Andualem have worked there for more than 15 years having experience of many contracts such as Hotels, Restaurants, Pubs, Farms, Cafes, Factories, Stable offices, Hospitals, etc…
One thing that Ato G/Egziabher Tekolla always said was that if you provide the best service and look after your customers, your business will always grow and people will trust you. It tells Michael and Andualem a lesson in life, and they decide to establish their own Pest Control Enterprise as mentioned above,
Over the years Efficient Pest Control grew and equipped to handle the listed below pests

Today Efficient Pest Control (EPC) follows the ERD Principle (Exclusion-Restriction-Destruction), the philosophy being that prevention is always better than cure. we will work in partnership with you to help maintain a pest-free environment through effective & efficient implementation of the ERD process:

Cockroaches:- Usually can be found hiding in areas where there is ample food and moisture such as kitchens and other food areas but they can be found in other areas if they find it warm. Cockroaches are scavengers that eat all kinds of materials including paper, clothing, dead animals, and plants; they adapt to live in almost any environment.

• • • Roaches can live up to 20 days without food and 14 days without water,
    • They will eat anything food, leather, hair, and glue in bookbinding,
    • Cockroaches can transmit a wide variety of diseases and cause common allergic reactions,
    • The average roach-infested household contains more than 20,000 roaches.

Rodents (House mice):- live in and around homes, farms, commercial establishments, and in open fields. The onset of cold weather each fall in temperate regions may cause mice to move into structures in search of shelter and food.

Food habits:- Mouse eats many types of food but prefers seeds and grain. They are not hesitant to eat new foods and are considered “nibblers” sampling many kinds of items that may exist in their environment. Foods high in fat, protein, or sugar may be preferred even when grain and seed are present.

Damage:- House mice cause structural damage to buildings by their gnawing and nest-building activities. They may quickly cause extensive damage to insulation inside walls & tactics. They usually contaminate foodstuffs with their urine, droppings, and hair.

Bed bugs:-  are quite common in apartments due to high occupancy and resident turnover rates. With all those people moving through one space, apartment dwellings are particularly exposed to Bed Bug hitchhikers moving in on infested furniture or other belongings. Bed Bugs can also become a problem if you bring a lot of second-hand items into your apartment
Bed Bugs are:

    • 1/8– 1/4 inch long
    • Oval shaped & flat
    • Requires blood meals to survive
    • Bite people at night when they are sleeping
    • Bites become inflamed & itchy
    • Resilient and very difficult to control
    • In 6 months 40 Bed Bugs will reproduce to almost 6,000

Termites:-  are social insects that live in colonies with caste systems, which means termites are organized into different social classes based on their roles and responsibilities. The termite’s caste system has three levels: reproductive, workers, and soldiers.

• • • The total weight of all of the termites in the world is more than the weight of all the humans in the world
    • Termite colonies eat mom-stop, 24 hr. a day 7 days a week
    • Termites are known as “silent destroyers” because of their ability to chew through wood, flooring, and even wallpaper undetected.
    • There are about 2,000 known termite species in the world.
    • Each year, termites cause more than $5 billion in property damage.

Mosquitoes:-  are small, midge-like flies that constitute the family Culicid. Females of most species are ectoparasites, whose tube-like mouthparts pierce the hosts’ skin to consume blood. The word “mosquito” is Spanish for “little fly”

    • There are more than 3,500 species of mosquitoes
    • Mosquitoes don’t have teeth
    • A mosquito can drink up to three times its weight in blood.
    • Lifespan-Female: 42-56 days (Adult),
    • Male: 10 days (Adult)
