We provide inspection, technology transfer, training, consultancy and related services in Ethiopia.

STEP GENERAL INDUSTRY PRODUCTS QUALITY AND INSPECTION SOLUTIONS PLC provides inspection, technology transfer, training, consultancy and related services with competent personnel in the following fields:

1. In collaboration with other interested parties and/or solely conduct research and produce study papers on quality, social, chemical, environmental, energy and water management issues, and all issues related to the mentioned activities.
2. Training of manufacturing industries workers based on international and national COVID-19 prevention mechanisms using basic tools risk analysis, impact and scenarios, impact on employees and customers, impact on business, resources, policies, communications, coordination with external parties, and infection prevention.
3. Development of an IT-based due diligence assessment tool for assessing the status of textile and garment companies with regard to their:
   1. Planning for impact on business
   2. Planning for impact on employees and customers
   3. Policies to prevent the pandemic
   4. Communication to prevent the pandemic
   5. Resources to prevent the pandemic
   6. Coordination with external stakeholders, and
   7. Status of infection prevention
4. The development and implementation of technical regulatory requirements.
5. Inter-laboratory comparison, proficiency testing (PT), industry productivity, and quality.
6. Conducting different research and development works, different monitoring and evaluation activities.
7. Services on social security, corruption and good governance as per international standards.
8. Development and implementation of an energy management system as per national and international standards.
9. Development of different purchasing documents, for example, industry inputs, laboratory equipment, chemicals, construction materials, etc.
10. Conducting quality audit, assessment, surveillance, data collection and analysis, and risk assessment and analysis.
11. System development and implementation for accreditation based on different standards such as ISO/IEC17025, ISO/IEC 17020, ISO 15189, ISO/IEC 17021, ISO/IEC 17024,ISO 50001:2018,50002:2014,ISO 50003:2014 ISO/IEC 17065, ISO/IEC 17043, ISO/IEC17034, GLP and others.
12. System development and implementation on certification standards based on different standards such as ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO22001, ISO27001, ISO18001, ISO45001, ISO 50001, HACCP, GMP, etc.
13. Providing training, implementation, technical support, document preparation, internal and external audit of the necessary ISO management system standard requirements, especially ISO 9001, ISO14001 and ISO 18001, and report the feedback and audit findings based on the specific standard criteria, evaluation and monitoring of the management system, and make industries and service providing bodies ready for third party certification.
14. Provide training, technical support on implementation of the necessary international buyers requirements based on quality, social and environmental management systems like AMFORI BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative), WRAP (World Wide Recognized Accredited Production), Okotex-100 (Product requirement), Chemical Management System (Based on ZDHC Requirement), Occupational Health and Safety Specific requirements,
15. Provide training on an internal audit management system standard (ISO 19011:2012) and conducting internal and external audits as lead auditor.
16. Provide training on product standards based on international and national standard requirements and supporting the implementation of specific product standards.
17. Prepare management system and product standard training manuals to provide effective training and technical support for implementation of the quality management system.
18. Provide training and technical support on productivity and quality improvement tools like office kaizen (5s) and SWOT analysis.
19. Provide training on good laboratory practices for industries and service-providing bodies.
20. Provide training on quality management systems and sector-specific product standards for SMEs, manufacturing and service-providing industries.
21. Conduct a feasibility study for newly arrived investors, especially in the textile and garment sector, and provide feedback based on the findings.
22. Provide inspection, quality control and quality assurance services for producers and buyers and submit the feedback for further action.
23. Prepare organizational human resource generic manuals, purchase manual, marketing and sales manual, production manual, and organizational leaders' guideline manuals for effective implementation of a quality management system.
24. Work in partnership with international ISO certification bodies like DQS and ISOQUAR in Ethiopia, as lead auditor.
25. Solely and/or in collaboration with other interested parties, provide a lead auditor training for those who have an internal audit management system (ISO 19011:2018) as a pre-requisite.
26. Provide technical support for organizations and projects on monitoring and evaluation of the implemented systems and report the result and necessary feedback.
27. Provide professional support for those who want to purchase and install industry machinery, especially for textile and garment industries.
28. Provide training and technical support on national and international import and export directives and regulations (e.g. IRCA directives and regulations, MOI directives and regulations, etc.).
29. Providing training and technical support on basic manual and computer-aided pattern making for garment industries,
30. Provide training and technical support in preparing strategic and business plans for manufacturing and service providing organizations,
31. Solely and/or in collaboration, prepare project proposal documents for NGOs, as well as manufacturing and service providing organizations on quality, productivity, environmental, social and related issues.
32. Prepare training manuals and provide soft-skill trainings for industry workers and managers on motivation, knowledge management, leadership basics, negotiation skills, perspectives on international trades, marketing and communication, quality and sample development, quality risk management, understanding conflict, customer service, presentation skills, performance management, crisis management, and supply chain management for manufacturing and service providing organizations.
33. Work as an agent for international textile and garment machinery manufacturers and for international management system certification bodies, among others.

Personnel Involved and Experience

The personnel assigned to be involved in studies and other activities come from various backgrounds and experiences working in both national and international groups, choosing which best fits the assignment to provide the required training, implementation, or study in a competent and professional manner. They are selected to produce the expected output to the expected assessment and perform the study required in a way it provides a positive contribution to any organization.

Work Experience (Related to Textile and Garment)

The table below shows the number of textile and garment companies that are supported/ consulted by our company, and most of them are textile and garment-related companies. In all the support services, training on prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic will be provided and due diligence assessment based on the tool we have developed will be conducted and reported to the companies. The pieces of training and assessments are conducted as part of the health and safety issues mentioned and reported separately.
