STGT Trading Plc was established in February 2010 with a paid capital of 1,000,000.00 birr. Among its founding partners, Ato Shiferaw Dabi, the managing director of the company, has been working in the water engineering and development sector for over 30 years and has strong ties with various companies within the industry. So far, we have been supplying submersible and centrifugal pumps. Currently, we are widely engaged in providing water well drilling services. Our company is fully self-sufficient in both manpower and equipment resources required for the services we provide.

In its 5 years of operation, STGT has been able to establish a long line of customer base in Ethiopia and has been providing its customers with the following services.

COMPANY STRUCTURE

RESOURCE

STGT TRADING PLC is fully self-sufficient in both the manpower and equipment resources required for the services we provide.

Currently, our drilling fleet contains two rigs which are DTH/Rotary. The rigS are used strictly for water well drilling, specifically in deep boreholes, where time is a factor. Our rotary fleet has the capacity to drill up to 150 to 300m in depth and can drill boreholes up to 6"-14” in diameter.

Our brand new drilling rig is in excellent condition and fully equipped with the required tools and accessories. To support our drilling and technical teams, we operate a number of heavy trucks and field vehicles.

As for manpower, the operation department is overseen by qualified drilling experts and drillers as well as rig mechanics with many years’ experience acquiring a deep knowledge base. We also take fresh technical school graduates and give on-job training in order to maintain a cohort of qualified technical personnel. Besides our own professionals we work closely with some of the well-known consultants in the fields of hydrogeology.

DRILLING RIGS AND EQUIPMENT

STGT TRADING PLC proposes to assign DTH/Mud drilling rig with all required tools and accessories, construction equipment and vehicles in projects in order to run efficient activities. All of our equipment are new. Lists of this equipment are briefly shown below.

Presently STGT owns two combination drilling rig units accompanied by powerful compressors with the capability of drilling up to 300 & 150 meters 

Drilling RIG Number 1

DTHR-300-HEAVY DUTY: INDIA Truck Mounted hydraulically and mechanically operated table rotary DTHR drilling and Mud Rotary Rig having a capacity depth of 300m under favorable drilling conditions with up to 10” dia. (Brand New)
MAST: sturdy box type7.2m length, Box type, made with heavy duty structural steel material reinforced with suitable cross members with Rotary head travel 7.2m, centralizer opening of 406mm.
Primary Mover: The hydraulic system is powered by through PTO/Driven by suitable diesel Engine with pump mounting arrangement.

Hanjin 6000 Scd Truck Mounted Hydraulically operated top drive DTH drilling and Mud Rotary Rig having a capacity depth of 150 mts by itself under favorable drilling conditions with up to 10” dia.(Brand New)
MAST: 9500mm length, channel type, made with heavy duty structural steel material reinforced with suitable cross members with Rotary head travel 5.5m, centralizer opening of 480 mm.

ROTARY HEAD: Single reduction oil bath gear box with two heavy single speed, disc valve motor having infinitely variable speed (1800 RPM) with 800 Kg-m Torque.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM: The hydraulic system is designated for fuel-efficient and high productive capacity. General 3 pump open loop system, capacity of 160 cc, with filtration (10 micron), pump model K3V63*2+31 (HP constant), air cooling system and, with max operating pressure of 280bar.

PRIMARY MOVER: The hydraulic system is powered by the DC6A 6 cylinder diesel engine with pump mounting arrangement.

AUXILLARY SYSTEM: Hydraulically operated triplex Water Injection pump with max flow of 100 l pm and max pressure of 40 kg/cm2. Four Hydraulic leveling jacks of 125 mm cylinder bore dai, 610 mm Stroke. Breakout Wrench; 80mm cylinder bore with 300mm Stroke and Auxiliary

Winch 1000kgf bare drum –pull with max. Speed of 40m/min, and manually operated Single rod changer is an additional advantage.

Human Resource

General Manager: Mr. Shiferaw Dabi (Ethiopian) has over 30 years of experience in the water sector. He worked in different Government and private drilling companies before establishing STGT.

Deputy General Manager: Ms. Tigist Getachew has a vast experience in management work in different governmental and non governmental organizations.

Operation Manager: Mr.Kinfu Seyum Has 16 years of experience, especially in Water well drilling operations in different parts of the county.

Supper Attendant: Mr.Abebe Sinke has vast experience for years as a chief driller and chief mechanic in different governmental and private companies. He has worked in different drilling projects throughout the country facing different geological conditions and work environments and is capable of handling different problems by giving tangible solutions.

Hydrogeologist: Mr. Henok Birhanu has 8 years of experience in different parts of the country.

Chief Driller: Mr.Habte Deguhas more than 15 years of experience as a chief driller for different drilling companies and has a vast experience in different geological formations around the country.

Assistant Driller: Mr. BiniamDemesew has been working in as an assistant driller and welder for the last five years And he also has sound knowledge in Hydraulic and compressor mechanism.

Assistant Driller: Mr. Amare Melaku has 12+ years of experience in water well drilling. Through his experience he was exposed to different geological formations in Ethiopia. And he also has sound knowledge in Hydraulic and compressor mechanism.

Assistant Driller: Mr. Shiferaw Getachew has 4+ years of experience in water well drilling and related waterworks.

Electrician/Mechanic-: Mr. Huruma Legese has 15 years of experience in water well drilling.

In addition to this we have certified Mechanics, drillers, Welders, electrical and pump testing technicians, drivers and necessary crew for drilling and pumping test activity.
