Halkayan Industry and Trading PLC is an Ethiopian trader and exporter of various agricultural products including Chickpeas, Brown Chickpeas, Red Speckled Beans, Pinto Beans, Green Mung Beans, Light Speckled Beans, Broad Bean Seeds, Kabuli Chickpeas, Soybean, Sesame Seeds, Organic Turmeric, Pulses, Oilseeds, Black Cumin Seeds, etc.

The company exports these products especially to the markets of Morocco, Uganda, India and Ghana.

Halkayan was established in 2016 with an initial capital of 3 million birr and as an importer currently distributes pharmaceutical products, and has a plan to start manufacturing pharmaceuticals locally. The company is already in a negotiation to acquire one pharmaceutical manufacturing firm.

The company acquired 902-meter-square mixed-use land at the center of Addis Ababa by winning a land lease bid and constructed the basement of nine floors building. Apart from this, the company has set up a pharmaceutical manufacturing factory 20km from Addis.

Halkayan's head office is located in the building of its sister company AGT in  Lideta sub-city, woreda 03, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The owners of the organization are:

• Dr. Mohammed Shikur, a gastrologist, owner of Amin General Hospital and a shareholder of Sheger Water and Specter Laboratories PLC.
• Mr. Heyder Kemal, who has experience in Accounting, Economics, Business Admin, etc., and also has an MSC degree in quality and organization excellence.
