FORTSCHRITT ELECTRO - MECHANICAL SERVICE PLC /FEMS/ is an electromechanical engineering company legally registered and licensed under the Ethiopian Law engaged to provide mainly services in the area of electromechanical engineering and consultancy service by offering international standard quality service through a value-adding performance to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.

The advancement of technology in electronics and electrical equipment and machines is increasing alarmingly fast and the concerned technical elite must catch up with the newly introduced technical aspects that enable to cope with technical defects arising from these technical aspects. Not only has this, but the old equipment and machines also needed special attention so that they should be periodically supervised and maintained to lengthen their life span. Due to these and free-market economic policy, attractive investment laws and incentives prevailing in the country we are encouraged to establish this company.

The company is managed and staffed by highly experienced engineers and technicians who have ample experience in the area of project management, design, construction/installation, operation, test and commissioning of electromechanical engineering activities ranging from high voltage transmission lines to low voltage distribution lines in the electric power industries and in electromechanical works in waterworks including compact treatment plant activities.

Undertakes electromechanical installation, maintenance, test, and commissioning of any electrical power system facilities. Among them, the major ones are:
- Power generation/ hydro-electric dam/ construction of high voltage transmission lines and substations installation, test and commissioning
- Electromechanical works of compact water treatment plants
- Wastewater treatment plant works
- Supply and construction of mechanical and electrical works of irrigation systems
