Debre Berhan Blanket Factory PLC is the leading blanket factory in Ethiopia and manfactures different types of blankets at its plant in Debreberhan city. Its main office is loacted in Addis Ababa, around Mexico Square.
The factory was taken over in its entirety by the Indian Blanket conglomerate, Geetanjali woollens Pvt. Ltd. Based out of Mumbai-India under the Ethiopian Governments Privatization scheme. We are at Present the largest and oldest blanket manufacturer in Ethiopia.
Ethiopia is in east-central Africa, bordered on the west by the Sudan, the east by Somalia and Djibouti, the south by Kenya, and the northeast by Eritrea. This makes us an ideal choice for supply of blankets to the East African market.
We have a capacity to manufacture in excess of one and half million blankets per annum. We are at present manufacturing a range of blankets suitable for every budget, right from the low-cost budget blankets to the high end blankets suitable for kings and queens.
All our blanket are made with an eye on quality. Quality checks begin right at the fiber stage and continue throughout the production process right till the final blanket is packed.
We have large warehouses at our plant in Debre Berhan and also a large distribution center in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa. Our huge stock holding capacity helps us deliver blankets at a moment’s notice to clients. We have our own trucks that deliver blankets across the length of villages within Ethiopia.
Recently in the year 2011 we have started a new plant to make hand-Tufted carpets in wonderful and unique designs. All the carpets are designed and made entirely at our plant in Debre Berhan. This is the first time that such a plant has our plant in Debre Berhan. This is the first time that such a plant has been set up in Ethiopia. These carpets are very good for the contract market as well as the home markets.
We are making several types of blankets & Rugs to meet the demands of the market. We make blankets for the local civilian market. All our civilian blankets come in assortment of designs, sizes and vibrant colors. We are making wool rich blankets and acrylic blend blankets as well.
