Ethio Telecom has introduced new services, including Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE), to enhance connectivity and drive digital development in Ethiopia.

Ethio-telecom CEO Frehiwot Tamiru announced the introduction of VoLTE, emphasizing its ability to deliver superior voice and video quality during phone calls. The service provides ultra-high-definition call quality, ensuring clearer voices, reduced background noise, and uninterrupted data connectivity during voice calls, allowing for seamless transitions between voice and video calls. Importantly, Ethio-telecom is offering VoLTE at no additional subscription fee, aligning with industry standards in the telecom sector.

Other services include Rich Communication Service (RCS)/Rich Business Messaging, Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) with enhanced features, and Voice Mail Services (VMS) providing an alternative to traditional voicemail. Ethio Telecom is actively collaborating with device manufacturers to expand the availability of VoLTE, catering to over 74 million users, with more than 27 million using the 4G internet service.
