Addis Ababa Investment Commission exceeded its targets for attracting investment and creating jobs over the past nine months.

The Commission granted licenses to a total of 1,921 investors, representing a combined capital investment of Birr 9 billion, surpassing the set objective by a remarkable 76%. The Commission’s initial goal was to register a combined capital of only 5.72 billion Birr. It generated a revenue of Birr 18.34 million through licensing and related services, and to further improve its services, it launched a pilot project for online service delivery.

The Commission facilitated the advancement of 394 projects from the planning stage to the implementation phase, with 101 projects already commenced operations. These also resulted in the creation of job opportunities for 11,354 citizens, exceeding the planned target of 8,244 jobs.
