Ethiopia and Singapore Agreed to Tighten Their Relations

Ethiopia and Singapore agreed to tighten their trade and investment relations. The two countries held discussions during the third Ministerial Exchange of Experiences Forum which is held every two years between Singapore and sub Saharan African countries.

State Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Aklilu Hailemichael and Singapore’s Foreign Affairs Minister Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan discussed bilateral trade and investment issues.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two countries agreed to work on air transport, tax system and other issues of common interest.

Singapore is working to strengthen trade, tourism and investment ties between 50 African countries, including Ethiopia. The trade balance between Singapore and Africa reached USD 11 billion in 2015.
