Castel Group, owner of 99.9 percent shares in BGI Ethiopia PLC, in its latest move has acquired the shares of Unibra S.A. in Zebidar Brewer S.C. However, the share transfer has to wait for COMESA’s blessing to go through.

As per Castel's statement, Zebidar has now joined the group of beers and breweries that are owned by BGI. Currently, Castel Group owns 4 breweries and the newest acquisition is said to reinforce BGI’s presence in Ethiopia. Furthermore, the acquisition consolidates the company’s activities in South and South West areas of the country.
