Ethiopia: Nile Paid 231 Million Birr for Settling Claims

Nile Insurance S.C, one of the insurers in Ethiopia, paid a sum of 231 million Birr during the last fiscal year. This is according to unaudited report by the company.

During the same year, the company wore a premium of 420 million Birr and 28 million Birr from general as well as life insurance business. When it comes to market share, the firm’s general insurance line took 6 percent while life insurance stood at 7.6 percent.

In addition to this, the unaudited gross profit stood at 80 million Birr and 29 million Birr from general and long-term insurance businesses. When compared to 2015/2016 fiscal year, last year’s performance shows 5 fold increase.

Last year’s performance has taken Nile to top 5 insurance companies when it comes to premium products.
