Abay Industry Development S.C. is going to build a cement factory in Dejen City, Amhara State, for which cornerstone was laid on April 20, 2015. The plant is going to be constructed at an outlay of 7.5 billion Birr and scheduled to be completed in 4 years.

The laying of foundation stone was attended by various high level federal and state officials.

Speaking on the event Gedu Andargachew, President of Amhara State, said constructing the factory would help bring changes in addition to shifting towards industrial development.

The factory is estimated to create job opportunities for 1,690 people once completed.
