Ethiopia: Jinka Bag Factory Commenced Test Run

Jinka Bag Factory, which is expected to supply for Ethiopia’s grand projects, has commenced test run. The factory is said to manufacture sugar bags for the existing as well as new sugar factories being built.

The factory is built at an outlay of 60 million Birr in Jinka Town, Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples State. The construction was undertaken, like other government run sugar projects, by Metals and Engineering Corporation (METEC).

The sugar bag factory is near to the construction of 3 big sugar factories. This is in addition to Omo Kuraz I, which is scheduled to go operational in the first half of 2017, According to Lieutenant Teklay Alemayehu, manager of the factory, explained.

When the factory concludes its trial period, it would meet the nation’s demand for sugar bags without even operating in full capacity, Teklay added.

According to Fana Broadcasting Corporate, the factory has the capacity to manufacture 30 million sugar bags per year.
