Sri Lanka is going to establish a diplomatic mission in Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa where African Union (AU) is sited.

The diplomatic mission is being established after Sri Lanka’s cabinet of ministers granted approval for its government to establish the mission.

Sri Lanka is establishing the mission in the aim of strengthening trade and economic relations with Ethiopia and also to build close relationship with countries of the AU.

Sri Lanka has diplomatic relations with 38 African countries.
