Ethiopia to Host World Coffee Conference for the First Time

smallEthiopia will be hosting the International Coffee Organization’s (ICO) 4th World Coffee Conference on March 6-8, 2016 and 116th International Coffee Council meeting on March 9-11, 2016 in Addis Ababa, Fana Broadcasting Corporate reported.

This conference is the first of its kind in the African continent and Ethiopia is the first African nation to host this main event under the theme ‘Nurturing Coffee Culture and Diversity’.

Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mr. Teferra Derebew, announced that he was very pleased to invite the participants at the United Nations Conference Center where the conference would take place. More than 1000 participants including Heads of State, high level delegates and academia from 77 ICO member countries and others across the globe would be attending. High-level speakers, topical discussions, and an exhibition of products and services are included in the program.

Mr. Teferra further stated that the objective of these conferences was to bring together all stakeholders in the sector to review key production and marketing issues and forward solutions that would shape the future of the coffee industry in a way that would benefit both producers and consumers.
