Standard Bank Group has disclosed the opening of its representative office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, The Daily Monitor reported.

The representative office was opened by Ben Kruger, CEO of Standard Bank. The representative office serves clients who want to invest in Ethiopia. Standard Bank’s head office in South Africa will administer the representative office in Addis Ababa.

Kruger said “Establishing an office in Ethiopia is in recognition of the increasing interest by investors and our clients, in the country’s economic growth.”

Standard Bank is Africa’s largest bank by asset and has presence in 20 African countries.
