Awash International Bank (AIB), one of the private banks in Ethiopia had launched Visa Card service, Addis Fortune reported.

AIB had become a member to Visa Multinational Financial Service Corporation two years back to launch Visa Card service.

The Visa Card service is for those who hold a card issued under the Multinational Financial Service Corporation.

According to Mechal Bedhadha, Promotion and Public Relations Manager at AIB, the Bank had launched the service to attract foreigners, for them to spend their money thus, increase the Bank’s foreign currency earnings.

AIB was founded in 1994. Its total assets have reached 26 billion Birr and its total deposits 19 billion, the recent data indicates.
