METEC's solar panel factory is to launch production soon, according to Ethiopian News Agency.

The factory, which is being constructed in Sendafa town, Oromia Regional State of Ethiopia, used to generate 20 MW per year at Tatek town. Thus, this factory is an extension, Metals and Engineering Corporation states.

Yearly production of the solar factory is expected to be 100 MW.

Major Assefa Yohannes, Power Engineering Industry Manager, said the factory will produce various types of solar panels that generate power from 0.5-400 watt.

Captain Belay Abrha, Factory Head, said the factory’s construction integrates European standard technology. The panels are expected to give service from 25 to 30 years, he added.
