Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority has rated as a strong aviation in Africa by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Ethiopian News Agency reported.
ICAO’s team first auditing report reads Civil Aviation Authority scored 68 percent, beyond the world average 60. This would make Ethiopia one of the five countries with strong aviation in Africa.
The Authority scored 78 percent in ICAO’s audit that comprises of eight critical elements, including civil aviation rule, customer reception, institutional structure and manpower, it was indicated.
The auditing was done on Ethiopian Airlines, Ethiopian Airports Enterprise, National Meteorology Agency and operators engaged in private aviation industry.
ICAO is a UN body committed to monitoring the global aviation industry. It inspects the regulatory body of the aviation sector in countries and the certification process and the air navigation service.
Ethiopia is one of the establishing members of ICAO that was founded in 1944 by the Chicago convention.
