Commercial Bank of Ethiopia reviewed the 2014/15 Nine Months Report

The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) reviewed the 2014/2015 budget year nine months performance during the three days meeting held at Bahir Dar from April 23 to 25, 2015.

The report discloses that 355,413 women saving deposit accounts were opened and a total of 3 billion Birr have been mobilized thus far.

The Bank disbursed loans which amounted 62.9 billion Birr and collected 28.2 billion Birr in the specified period.

The Bank has mobilized foreign exchange of 4.4 billion USD from different sources. Export has its share in contributing 756.1 million dollars to the foreign exchange earnings. It has also collected 3.63 billion USD from remittance. Hard currency deposits and other FCY (Foreign Currency Accounts) sources contributed to the remaining balance.

The Bank’s total asset has now reached 276.3 billion Birr. The 2014/15 nine months profit before tax is 9.05 billion Birr.

The number of ATMs deployed has reached 627 and about 11.1 million Birr in transactions have been made.

From the 1,262 operational POS terminals, the Bank earned 553.1 million birr from 228,903 transactions.

CBE has managed to mobilize a total deposit of 1.1 billion Birr from the new branches that have been opened in the nine months period.

The Bank’s total number of branches has now reached 939 nationwide.
