Ethiopia Partnering With South Korea In Science And Technology

Hailemariam Desalegn, the Prime Minister of Ethiopia met up with South Korea’s Government Administration and Home Affairs Minister Chong Jong-Sup on March 19, 2015.

The Prime Minister stated in the discussion that Ethiopia is eager to collaborate with South Korea in the sphere of science and technology.

He also underlined Ethiopia values South Korea’s cooperation and support to its industry development and science. The support given by South Korean academicians to Addis Ababa and Adama Universities was also appreciated by the Prime Minister.

In addition, the Prime Minister invited South Korean companies to partake in Ethiopia’s priority investment areas including textile, leather, and food processing.

Minister Chong Jong-Sup on his part affirmed his country's commitment to associate and collaborate with Ethiopia in industrial development, ICT, and human resource development.

In the end, Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Ethiopia’s Ministry of Civil Service and South Korea’s Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs to advance bilateral cooperation in public governance.
