Ethiopia Earned USD 157.4 Million from Mineral

Ministry of Mines disclosed in the first six months of the current fiscal year, Ethiopia earned a total of USD 157.4 Million from the export of mineral products.

According to the Public Relation head at the Minister, Bacha Faji, during the period 32,425 Kilograms of gold and gemstones were exported. Other than this, 270 cubic meter of marble and 113 tons of tantalum were sold by Ethiopia on the international market.

The head further explained the performance of the sector has declined when compared to the same period of the previous year.

According to him the plan was to earn USD 714 Million from the mineral sector.
