A new web Portal was launched by the Ethiopian Government Communication Affairs Office (GCAO) on Friday, December 12, 2014.

During the web portal’s launching event, Redwan Hussein, Minister for GCAO, applaud the web portal as a step forward to ensuring the public’s right to information.

It is also important to strengthen the existing relations between the government and the public, to create accountability, build participatory good governance and ensure smooth flow of information and government responsiveness to public feedback, he added.

Information Network Security Agency’s (INSA) Director General, Major General Tekeleberhan Woldearegay, explained the web portal is immune from cyber attack.

The web portal costed 7 Billion Birr and it was designed as well as developed by INSA. It is located at www.gcao.gov.et.
