LonAdd Set to Launch Career Fair in Ethiopia’s Capital

A Career Fair event organized by LonAdd, a local human resource consultancy firm, is going to take place in October 23 at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).

The event is organized in an attempt to promote accurate, easy and dependable recruitment in the country, managing director and co-founder of the firm, Netsehet Workneh, noted.

The human resource consultancy firm was established in 2009 and got its name from the initials of London and Addis Ababa. It was established after teh two women arrived in the Ethiopian capital from London five years ago.

The Career Fair is the first event the firm organized since its establishment. According to Netsehet, this is because the firm was consolidating researches to meet the demand of the current market status in the country.

The Managing Director said, “We are coming up with some new ideas to incorporate in the career fair such as workshops, speech delivery and one-on-one conversations apart from posting CVs”.

The organizers are looking forward for the event to be a great opportunity to meet, advise and recruit professional candidates from various universities and institutes. Netsehet added, “We are planning to have all kinds of work sectors involved and will draw a wide variety of candidates”.

According to the co – founder, even if there exists expanding economic activities and investment in Ethiopia and in particular in its capital, recruitments often are informal and are done in a traditional manner. She added, “We aspire to be the leading specialists in Human Resources Management in Ethiopia”.

Addis Ababa since 2007 has been familiarized with the concept of annual job fairs. The first ever job fair in Ethiopia took place in 2007 after being organized by Engineering Capacity Building Program (ECBP) and Info-Mind Solutions.
