United Bank S.C. finished upgrading its internet banking service to Hiber Online, which is said to be a world class online banking system.

With the new system, United will be moving from the system it introduced to the Ethiopian banking industry seven years ago.

The upgrading work was done by a local firm known as Oracle Financials. According to the Bank’s President, Taye Dibekulu, the new upgraded system will benefit customers to get information on current, saving and overdraft accounts, loan particulars, letters of credit
(LC) and chequebook status, exchange rate of foreign currencies and money transfer.

He furthers, “The major beneficiaries will be corporate customers, as they can access the Bank at any time at any place without needing to contact branches”.
