DOW Interested to Invest In Ethiopia

After holding talks with President Mulatu Teshome, the DOW Company expressed its interest to invest in Ethiopia’s agriculture sector, in particular production of teff.

Commenting on the occasion, Dow Sub-Saharan Africa President, Ross McLean, revealed his company’s interest to invest in Ethiopia on agriculture, in particular production of teff. It is also looking forward to work jointly with local companies.

McLean noted, among other factors, it is the nation’s stability, conductive policy, fast economic development, cheap labour and raw material that attracted him to Ethiopia.

During the discussion, Mulatu noted Ethiopia needs to improve agricultural productivity and encourages foreign companies like the Dow to engage in the sector. He expressed his pleasure for the DOW’s interest to invest in Ethiopia’s agricultural sector.

DOW is a U.S based chemical company whose annual sales in 2013 was more than U.S $ 57 Billion. It manufactures more than 6,000 products worldwide employing 53,000 people.
