Ethiopia Won International Award for Tourism Achievement

Ethiopia is awarded an international award for making tourism resources a major source of income.
During a panel discussion that started on Wednesday, July 16, 2014,

Ethiopia’s Premier Haile Mariam Desalegn noted his nation will carry on the effort it is exerting to make use of it’s tourism resource.

World Tourism Organization’s Secretary General, Dr. Taleb Rifai, on the occasion said, Ethiopia’s effort in the tourism sector is exemplary one.

Haile Mariam furthered, his government has given the tourism sector due attention in order to make it a major source of income. He added, ever since Tourism Transformation Council was established there is a great improvement in the sector and it has allowed Ethiopia to expand and strengthen tourism destinations.

During his five days stay at Ethiopia, Rifai has witnessed Gonder, Lallibela, Axum Najid Mosque and more sites.
