Ethiopia: Alle Opened its Second Store

The second Alle Bejimla wholesale cash and carry store was opened on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Kality. The third store is expected to be opened on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Merkato.

It was Monday, May 26, 2014 the first store, which is around Megenagna, inaugurated and opened by Prime Minister Haile Mariam Desalegn.

The Merkato store is said to be situated in front of Khelifa Building which is in Sumale Tera.
According to Fortune, the newly opened store is aimed to reach residents of the Akaki Kality and Nefas Silk Districts.

All these three stores are owened by the Merchandise Wholesale and Import Trade Enterprise (MEWITE) and have costed the government 26 Million Birr.

Alle is a profit making state enterprise under the Ethiopian Trading Enterprise (ETE) and it is responsible to the Ministry of Trade.

According to the acting manager of Alle, Nuredin Mohammed, ETE aims to open 36 stores across 27 cities with a demographic figure of 100,000 plus. He added, there is a plan to open stores in Hawassa and Shashemenie in the near future for the cities are viable trade mobilization and national diversification.

Locally and internationally sourced goods are said to be offered by Alle. Nonetheless, 60 percent of these goods are going to be bought form local producers and manufacturers.

Alle has set up pre requisite for how it is going to carry out its transactions with its customers. It has 13 conditions which customers have to abide with.

Among the rules some of them are customers need to acquire a TIN number and a verified commercial address as well distribute the goods with a price Alle will set.
