Ethiopia: EGTE Earned 189.2 Million Birr from Coffee Export

Ethiopian Grain Trade Enterprise (EGTE) has announced it has earned 189.2 Million Birr from export of 33,000 quintals of coffee in the past nine months of the current fiscal year, Walta Information Center reported.

According to Berhane Hailu, General Manager of the Enterprise, the Enterprise’s target for the reported period was to export 92,000 quintals and earn 635 Million Birr.

The performance of the coffee export has gone down by 45 percent when compared to last year’s nine months performance. Nevertheless, it has gone up by six percent when compared to the 2011/2012 fiscal year.

During the nine months the Enterprise has earned 400 Million Birr from the export of oil seeds, cereals and pulses, including coffee beans.
