Ethiopia: Two Dutch Companies Dominated Habesha Breweries Share Auction

Habesha breweriesHabesha Breweries S.C sold 90 percent of its additional shares auctioned in November to  two Dutch companies, Fortune reported.

Bavaria bought 20,000 shares worth 20 million birrr, and  Peter Linssen acquired 45,000 shares for 65 million birr, now have a combined 60 percent ownership of Habesha Breweries.

Afer Hbesha's existing shareholders bought 127,539 shares, the company offered the the remaining 72,461 shares to the public on November 16, 2013.

Five blocal idders aquired bought most of the remaining shares, with only around 1,000 shares left unsold, according to Fortune.

Habesha Breweries will sell additional 100,000 shares in April 2014, to increase its capital to 550 million birr.

The company is constructing its brewery in Debre Berhan, 130km north of Addis Abeba.
