The Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX), is to switch to online trading in the third quarter of the current fiscal year, capital reported.

Currently, the exchange conducts physical trading from its headquarters located at Mexico Square in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Solomon Edossa, Chief Information Technology Officer of the Exchange, said, online trading will begin in Addis Ababa and six other selected remote centers outside of Addis Addis Ababa.

“We will commence online trading on all products that the Exchange handles on the trading floor,” Solomon said.

The Ethiopian Commodity Exchange is trading in agricultural commodities including coffee, sesame, peas and beans.
