Supply & Delivery of Instruments for Animal Health Clinic and Laboratory

1. This invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business of September 29,2007.
2.The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has received a credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of Rural Capacity Building Project, and it intends to apply part of the I proceeds of this credit to payments under the Contract for the supply of Instruments for Animal Health Clinic and Laboratory.
3.The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Procurement,Finance & Property Administration Directorate now invites sealed bids from eligible 'and qualified bidders for the supply and delivery of Instruments for Animal Health Clinic and Laboratory.
4.Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedure specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below during working days from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. -
6.Qualification requirements include provision of dccumentary evidence showing technical and financial capacity as well as relevant experience of the bidder from reputable ivistitutions as specified in the bidding documents. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents.
7.A complete set of Bidding Documents in English language may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of ETB 100 (Birr One Hundred) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency. The 'method of payment will be cash/cashier chaque. The Bidding Documents will be sent by first class mail for overseas bidders who send a crossed bank draft of ETB 500.00 (Five Hundred) or USD 35 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency, in, addition to the price of 8.the bid documents to the address givem below. However, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Deveroprnent will not take any responsibility for late or non delivery of the bidding document sent by mail. No extension in bid submission date is permitted on this account.
8. Bids must.be delivered to the address below at or before 2:00 pm on October 29,2010. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders/ representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below on October 29, 2010 at 2:30 pm. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of Birr 35,000 (Birr Thirty Five Thousanr) or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
